RODAN KAIROS: Born in Sudan, brought to the world by two determined guerilla fighters, she came to Sweden after a 6 year stay in Washington state. Here Rodan was raised in Lund which she later left for NYC and then back to Sweden again. This emcee is a walking open mind, most often seen hanging out with the best of vibes. With a gift for writing and kicking lyrics/poetry (call it what you want) in her own mellow way, her expression offers a positive, introspective and contemplative angle. A big welcome in the form of music with her door open since 1997. Inside, thoughts and styles become an engine for soul searching and progression in art and life. With her voice already on tapes, CDs and vinyl, her face on the screen and her words on paper, Rodan is just getting started. In the mind and outside. PORTER: Born and raised in Karlskrona. After many trips from here to there he finally ended up in Gothenburg. This beat-entity, producer and heavy cratedigger is 13 years in the game. Classic name in the Swedish underground. With a personal style recognised especially on charismatic, heavy, deep and often live sounding drums Porter offers trademark music. Add to this a taste for samples from places and spaces that most people don't even know exist, you get what is known as bumping shit. Grimy or laidback, his productions often come with a sparkle of hidden humour. This means productions that pushes more than one of your buttons at once. Click. Not only working with emcees in Sweden, Porters pieces are also travelling overseas to find new company. Let's just say they are taken good care of. Known for keeping it straight and effective things can only go one way with this man. You said?

MISTO SOON: In his opuses, Misto (omnidirectional) Soon, originally from Skåne now living in Gothenburg, uses a language which has a touch of poetry embelished with pure hip hop lingo. Since his start in 1995, Misto has made his name known by the release of two underground pieces on which he proves that life consists of more things than what your mediocre rap act conveys. With an obsession for concepts and thought provocative rhymes he delivers a flow made of spontanity, the type you hear from jazz cats making love with their instruments, the type of passion a real mc uses when freestyling. Misto is not the standardized rapper who you see boasting at clubs. This mc has got soul and you can hear it in the music which he is, devotingly creating.

ENIGMATICAL: A Gothenburg native. Spends most of his time in another world, returning only to play his latest creations and to drop of records. Yes, producer, soundweaver and heavy cratedigger. Coming from a family with musical focus he's been going at it since 1999. Spiritual jazz and psychedelic 60's is the main inspiration of his work, still, it goes deeper than that. While beautiful breaks are beautiful breaks Enigmatical also turns forgotten fragments into smiling faces. Here lies the soul and space. His tracks are felt before they are heard. With quality measured in vibe, Enigmatical lets the surroundings and history whisper through his pieces. Can you hear it? Besides working with numerous Swedish emcees and some instrumental excursions he also makes himself a name through the side project Sväng&Själ. Anyways, enough talk. Just remember, music believes in karma. And on that magical note, let it strike.

NADASDI: This Swedish/Hungarian emcee is a styler out to his cratedigging, MPC-hitting fingertips. As a half of the dynamic duo Assimilated he is a classic name on the Swedish scene, well respected in circles that know about originality and microphone honesty. Started writing and expressing himself in 1995 and has since then developed a unique way of doing his thing. A mix of philosophy, spoken word, free thinking and an "always on the go personality" creates a thought out, yet spontaneous sounding, flow. Also, his trademark voice always makes sure to leave a mark. Teaming up with other emcees and producers, in Sweden as well as abroad, Nadasdi is laying down a new foundation for great things to come. That means more goose bumps and good feelings are ahead. Nothing less is to be expected from the man known for rapping over his own heartbeat. That's Nadaism.

THIRD PERSON: Born in Karlstad. Still dwelling. Producer and cratedigger introducing everything from pieces of jazz to dirty moods to pulsating rhythms. Sometimes uplifting and sunny, sometimes telling you to duck before you get struck. In both cases, always pounding, straightforward hip hop. Also comes with an ability to create minimalism as well as the funky opposite. In other words, Third Person has no problem taking you to the psycho circus before spending the rest of the day at the jam. Has sharpened his work since the year 2000 and is part of the production crew Advocrates. Started building his skill with Swedish emcees and producers but now also finds his music catching the ears of emcees and listeners abroad. Finally, three things. First, there is something cooking in the woods. Second, hurricanes need something to chant over. Third, say nothing, just listen.

PESHI: Born and raised in Norrkoping, now lives in Gothenburg. An emcee creating her own world and expression with the help of a number of influences thrown into a personal melting-pot. Soul, jazz, live instruments and banging beats mixed together is the favourite choice of this sweet voice. With a style flying, and at the same time nailing the rhythm, Peshi comes with great feeling for melody. Not surprisingly, straight rhymes sometimes lean into a more singing style to add on to her laidback trademark. Going at it since 1996, her topics today touches everything from personal matters and ponderings to play with words and thoughts. Perfect whispers always beat screaming nothingness. With her base in Sweden, Peshi is also collaborating with producers and emcees outside of the country. Thanks to a clear vision of her craft and its direction she is bound to conquer any bumpy ride that lies ahead. Time will show.
